Ensuring the owner's voice is heard

Having an owner's representative in the team is a big asset to all parties involved in a newbuilding project. The owner’s representative (OR) acts as a facilitator and contact person in the yard during the whole process.

Preferably involved from the early stages on, the OR ensures the wishes and priorities of the owner are met. The OR participates in yard meetings on behalf of the owner and keeps the owner informed on the progress of the work.

The OR is just a call or e-mail away to answer any questions the owner may have, and equally available to the yard’s project manager to respond to inquiries and provide any information the yard may need.

In essence, the OR makes the building process smoother and takes care that no unasked or unanswered questions turn into problems at a later stage.
