3D-Modelling

As part of the concept design, or as subcontractor to a different designer or a shipyard, Innomare makes computer models of megayachts. These models are not only practical for visualisation but are an extremely useful tool for communication between all parties involved. The complex shape of a ship is much better grasped in a 3D model than in a 2D drawing. Modelling can be either parametric or non-parametric. Parametric modelling is advised in the design stages, as it has the flexibility to make endless modifications with a minimum of effort. It is nevertheless more time-consuming and thus costly to create a parametric model. If the goal is merely to create a 3D model of a completed design for representation, a non-parametric model suffices in many cases and can be made in a matter of days. Through the use of rapid prototyping techniques, Innomare is able to provide a fysical scale model at very short lead times, which is essential in the concept design stage. Due to confidentiality agreements, we cannot publish a portfolio, but clients are welcome to visit our office.
